KForce Balance System - balance and treat the bacteria that cause bad breath

Balance of Mouth Flora
How to Maintain Fresh Breath
Once biofilm cleansing has been achieved Dr Speiser's Australian Breath Clinic uses the Probiotic Streptococcus salivarius K12 to maintain the status quo of the mouth. We call this probiotic KForce K12 and it is the active ingredient in our KForce Mouthwash, KForce Chewing Gum, and KForce Lozenges. As well as the Probiotics KForce K12 you need to continue on with the Hypertonic Saline Nasal Flushes twice daily and also the flossing and KForce Breath Guard Gel cleaning program you began with the KForce Balance Starter Kit. Once every four days you rinse your mouth with a dose of the KForce Balance Rinse in the morning, and the rest of that day and the next two days, you take doses of the KForce K12 Probiotic to maintain a healthy and clean mouth.

HOW DOES KFORCE K12 WORK?
Just like humans, bacteria like to surround themselves with similar bacteria. One mechanism that bacteria use to accomplish this effect is BLIS (Bacteriocin Like Inhibitory Substance). Bacteria release BLIS peptides to help control the growth of undesirable bacteria that are close to their environment. Not all bacteria can create BLIS, and some bacteria can create more than one BLIS making them far more effective in controlling unwanted bacterial growth.

Mode of action of Salivericin B - a BLIS peptide.

Research has shown a normal mouth bacteria found in 2% of the world's population is a potent BLIS producing bacteria. This bacteria is called Streptococcus salivarius K12, and it is the active ingredient in our KForce products. The BLIS peptides produced are called Salivaricin A (a bacteriostatic peptide) and Salivaricin B (a bactericidal peptide). The mode of action of the peptide is to attach to the targeted bacteria cell wall and then create a gap in the wall causing the cell to die. An unusual feature is that this process requires a minute difference in voltage between the inner and outer cell wall, and this only typically occurs in bacteria dividing while undergoing rapid growth. Bad breath anaerobic bacteria are notorious for rapid growth and are therefore perfect targets for this BLIS peptide.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES TO OPTIMISE THE MOUTH
To maintain a healthy mouth environment, it is critical to avoid certain choices. Every time you eat you have an acid attack. As well as this most foods are already in the acid levels. So try to eat set meals, and avoid grazing on foods. Acid can reduce the numbers of viable KForce K12 bacteria in the mouth and will increase the number of Bad Breath Bacteria. Most acids come from soft drinks (diet, normal and sports), coffee, and some commercial mouthwash.

Avoid dry mouth as this mimics an anaerobic environment and encourages growth of anaerobic bad breath bacteria. Dry mouth often occurs as the day progresses, due to inadequate water intake, stress levels from work and life, and smoking. Also remember at night, your saliva flow greatly reduces, and therefore sleep is an opportune time for bacteria to grow. To combat this, Dr Speiser recommends using the KForce Kit and nasal spray just before sleep to reduce the bacterial load on your tongue surface. Doing this can have dramatic effects on reducing morning breath and the bad taste many people complain about on waking.

AVOID DAIRY PRODUCTS
Dairy products contain the amino acid Cysteine. This is a building block of life. Unfortunately Cysteine is broken down by bacteria to Hydrogen Sulphide which has the smell of rotten eggs. Also dairy will thicken mucous in the back of your throat and increase the cabbage and gasoline smells that are emitted from Dimethyl Sulphide.

Dr Speiser's Australian Breath Clinic recommends replacing Dairy Milk with Rice Milk, and stopping all other forms of dairy, such as cheese, yoghurts and ice cream.
