CLINIC VISIT - FULL DENTAL & BREATH EXAMINATION
The Australian Breath Clinic Consultation is performed by Dr Speiser and is a full dental and breath examination. Our examination can be a substitute for your general 6 monthly dental checkup. Below is the examination protocol as performed at our clinic in Edgecliff:

Halicheck Gas Chromagraph; Halicheck tests a sample of your mouth air for over 50 different types of gases from volatile to organic compounds that you exhale. The Halicheck is able to read bad breath gases down to one part per billion parts of air, which is over twenty times more sensitive than the human nose. We are specifically interested in the tongue surface, teeth and gums and mucous at the back of the throat. Australian Breath Clinic is the only clinic in Australia with this technology.

Saliva Evaluation; here we look at the pH of the saliva, the quality and quantity of the saliva. We know that certain types of saliva can support more of the bad breath bacteria, so we are trying to identify these types. We use a saliva testing protocol developed by the dental company GC (the developers of Tooth Mousse).

Dental Examination; this is a full clinical dental and breath examination that can substitute for your general 6monthly checkup. We will take the necessary radiographs, and check your mouth for all dental issues such as decay and periodontal issues. If any dental issues are noted you will have the opportunity of having these repaired either by your regular dentist or at our clinic by Dr Speiser.

Detailed Lifestyle Quiz;, the quiz will examine your ability to clean your mouth in general but specifically the biofilms that contain bacteria that cause bad breath. The quiz also examines your medication, illnesses, intake of foods and times of eating, as well as addressing any individual concerns you may like to add. We will focus on biofilm buildup on the tongue surface, teeth, gums and throat.

Supragingival Scale Clean & Fluoride; We will clean all biofilms that we can access in your mouth. If we note any gum disease that we cannot treat then we can offer you a referral to our team of specialist periodontists that we work with.

27Day Maintain Treatment that continues the cleaning you learnt during the treatment stage, but now adds the power of KForce K12 Probiotics to help balance and maintain the mouth. KForce K12 are a natural probiotic(good bacteria) that lives in 2% of the population. It is able to make BLIS peptides that can help control the recurrent overgrowth of bad breath bacteria. Halicheck is a specialised gas chromography device that can smell bad breath particles in quantities down to 1 part bad breath gas per 1 billion parts of air. This is up to one hundred times more sensitive than the human nose. There are three main gases of bad breath with each gas coming from one main sector of the mouth and throat. ONLINE VIRTUAL HALICHECK WITH PRINTOUT
This is an in depth interview with you, the patient. It explores all of your cleaning habits, medications and illnesses, as well as lifestyle habits and general conditions. If you answer positive to any of these categories, we then delve even further, to find the root cause or issue. This quiz was developed by Dr Speiser at the Australian Breath Clinic after treating thousands of patients and seeing common links and habits amongst Bad Breath sufferers. It is a major part to determine if your bad breath is due to normal healthy activity or maybe due to something unhealthy like gingivitis or periodontitis. Online Halichecks are recommended for patients that cannot attend our Breath Clinics but still need that added help to ensure the KForce Treatment Program works to its maximum.

During this phone appointment the consultant will examine dental issues, health issues, lifestyle choices, and advise you on any questions you may need answered.
